Founder: Michel Grisard, who established the estate in Savoie during the 1970s, farming ~6 ha of vines (4 ha Mondeuse, ~1.5 ha Altesse). He adopted biodynamic viticulture in 1994, being one of its pioneers in the region.

Vinification (2014): Last vintage fully overseen by Grisard before handing over to the Giachino brothers in 2015. He continued his signature style: partial whole-cluster fermentation, cold pre-maceration, 6 months in vats, followed by 12 months in old wood—all to preserve freshness and structure.

Style & Tasting Notes

Appearance & Aromatics: Deep ruby-purple hue with a violet edge. The nose opens with wild cherry, violets, and a pronounced black pepper character—often likened to northern Rhône Syrah .

On the palate: Silky light tannins, vibrant acidity and tension, with flavors of tart cherry and tangy strawberry. Long, peppered finish, described as elegant yet concentrated .

Profile: Light-to-medium-bodied, aromatic, mineral, savoury, reflecting classic Mondeuse traits.

Serving: Best served slightly cool—14–15 °C—with light decanting to allow tertiary notes to evolve

Food pairings:

Roast or grilled poultry, game birds, or white meat.

Alpine cuisine: creamy polenta, mushroom dishes.

Charcuterie or medium-aged cheeses for richer texture complements.
