VDF "Marin" (White) 2024
Mare Nostrum Vini, a project Inspired by a childhood spent growing up along the mediterranean coast, was founded by Antoine Isenbrandt and Athénaïs de Béru . Each of the wines come from carefully selected vineyards starting in the South of France and expanding across the Mediterranean. The wines all have a common link, each is named after the wind that influences the region from which they come and plays a crucial role in the character that can be discovered in each bottle.
Marin: one of the dominant winds of the Languedoc, blowing from the south. It often brings beautiful weather, though sometimes also high humidity and storms. It blows year-round over the Picpoul vines, which share a deep connection with it.
Terroir : 40 year old vines, goblet trained, sea level limestone and clay soils.
Vinification: Grapes are harvested by hand and pressed directly using a pneumatic press. Fermentation takes place in old 228l barrels followed by 19months ageing with the fine lees before bottling.
