Founded in 1899, the Pepe family estate spent most of its early history cultivating high-yield vineyards and selling grapes to the local cooperative. Everything changed in 1964, when Emidio Pepe recognised that their fruit was far too exceptional to give away, inspiring him to embark on producing wines of his own. At first from just a single hectare of vines. Today, the estate spans roughly 17 hectares, yet it remains dedicated to the same artisanal principles.
We are pleased to present the 2022 vintage from Emidio Pepe. A warm spring, late pruning, and timely summer rains shaped a rapid yet balanced growing season, with balanced ripening and vibrant fruit. An early harvest and the estate’s return to traditional hand-destemming helped preserve pristine berry character. The result is a collection of elegant, finely tuned wines that reflect this year’s unique conditions.
