IGT Toscana "Uva Matta Rosso" (Red) 2021

A lively, medium-light natural red with bright acidity and a slightly untamed personality. It offers notes of red berries like cherry and cranberry, alongside delicate floral hints and subtle earthy, savoury tones, supported by fine, lightly gripping tannins.

Terroir:

Situated at around 500m elevation near Monte Amiata in southern Tuscany, with sandy marl soils of volcanic origin that bring vibrancy, minerality, and aromatic lift.

Age of the vines:

From a historic field-blend vineyard planted in 1923, with vines now over a century old.

Vinification:

Grapes are harvested by hand and fermented naturally with indigenous yeasts in open vats, followed by a brief maceration. The wine is aged in large, neutral oak vessels and bottled ???? fining or filtration, with minimal sulphur added.

Food pairing:

Ideal with grilled meats, cured meats, tomato-based pasta, roasted vegetables, and hearty, rustic cuisine.
