This 100% Pinot Gris is rich and textured with aromas of spiced bread and quince. Dry, full-bodied, with a golden amber colour, and spiced pear and fruit chutney flavours. A long, floral finish. Possibly one of the best Pinot Gris we've ever tasted outside of Alsace.

Jean-Denis Perrochet crafts serious Swiss wines in Auvernier, a charming village bordering Lake Neuchâtel where his family has made wine since the 16th century. He emphasises local grapes, grown and vinified with modern and traditional methods, but always with respect for the terroir. The grapes come from a tiny half-hectare plot that has been fiercely protected from urban development.

Vinification: 50 year-old vines growing in a tiny plot considered one of the best of the Domaine. Grapes are harvested very ripe, macerated for a few hours to enhance colour and aromas then gently pressed on a 100 year-old vertical press. Aged one year in oak barrels, then aged in the bottle for a further one to two years.
