This is a 100% Sciaccarello with intense notes of strawberry and morello cherries on the nose. The palate is smooth and silky with fine tannins and fruit driven finish accompanied by notes of Corsican botanicals.
Jean-Charles took over the estate in 2000 from his father Antoine Abbatucci, in this wine he works with exclusively with Sciaccarello. Grown at 100m above sea level, the vines thrive in an ecosystem supported by the wide range of flora and fauna growing along side them.
Vinification: The vines are hand harvested, the grapes are de-stemmed and crushed naturally using gravity Fermentation takes place using indigenous yeast in thermoregulated tanks. The wine is matured for 12 months in 600 litre barrels before being blended followed by an additional 6 months ageing in stainless steel tanks prior to bottling.
Match it with: This wine pairs perfectly to aromatic dishes like chicken tikka masala.
