This is a pure and mineral Riesling with delicate spice, firm peach and some herbaceous notes. It's youthful and well balanced, with a lovely airy quality.

Kottabe is from Domaine Josmeyer's "Artistic Series" and the name comes from the French word for an ancient Greek drinking game known as "Kottabos".

Terroir: Parcels situated in the Herrenweg of Turckheim. Flat alluvial deposits of the Fecht are rich in clay (22%). The soil is predominantly of sand, shingle, and silt, with a high incidence of pebbles and frequent plates of loess.

Age of the vines: 40 years old

Vinification: The grapes are hand-picked // whole-bunch pressed gently in pneumatic presses for 5-8 hours // natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts // aged in stainless steel or traditional large oak barrel depending on the vintage
