Juicy red berry fruits and vibrant mediterranean acidity!
Oriol’s 7.5 hectares of vines in Vilassar de Dalt, his hometown, are left to grow as naturally as possible. He uses the lunar calendar to plan production, pruning his vines only very minimally and allowing nature to curate the soil between the plants. As such, wild vegetation has sprung up around his vines, allowing them to grow freely in a natural environment. Oriol’s ancient vineyards of native vines are largely based on granite rock, known locally as Sauló, at between 100 and 350 metres elevation. This results in wines often rich in minerality, conjuring aromas that will take you all the way to the Mediterranean.
Vinification: Grapes are hand-harvested, and fermented as whole bunches using indigenous yeast- 5% in old oak barrels. After 7 days the bunches are pressed into stainless steel tanks. The wine is left to rest with the gross lees for 11 months in stainless steel before bottling.
