This is the flagship Chenin Blanc from La Grange Tiphaine. Classic Chenin circus notes and acidity, with beautiful texture and complexity. Pear, apple, honeysuckle and a hint of creaminess. The 2020 vintage was warm and sunncy, resulting in a wine that is concentrated and generous, but still with lively acidity and a long, silky finish. Serve at 10-12°C.

Damien and Coralie Delecheneau, the winemaking team behind La Grange Tiphaine are both musicians and share a love of music almost as deep as their love of wine. Musical references are common in both their names and labels, and Clef de Sol, or the treble clef, is the symbol that marks the beginning of a musical work. This was the first wine the domaine released, and thus was their beginning. The clef also sets the tone for a musical piece– the same way the terroir does for the wine.

Vinification: Vines from 50 to 100 years old, in sandy-clay soil with flint over limestone on a South-facing plot in Montlouis-Sur-Loire. Hand harvested in successive pickings to ensure full maturity and top quality. Grapes are directly pressed and the juice is transferred into old oak barrels. The fermentation begins spontaneously and slowly in winter and finishes in summer. The wine remains for 10 months total on the lees in old barrels. The blend is made in tanks after ageing.

Match it with: The perfect pairing for a Sunday roast chicken, or white fish with cream or butter sauce. Also excellent with soft, mild cheeses.
