This wine has a powerful nose that evokes the flavours of Corsica- bright, tangy redcurrants along with subtle herbaceous notes of myrtle. On the palate, it is fresh with elegant tannins and a long complex finish.

Jean-Charles took over the estate in 2000 from his father Antoine Abbatucci, and thanks to him 18 native Corsican varieties have been preserved. In this blend Jean-Charles works with 7 of them, grown across 18 hectares of vines on granite soils situated 100 meters above sea level.

Vines: Sciaccarello, Nielluccio, Morescola, Morescono, Montanaccia, Carcajolo Nero, Aleatico

Vinification: Grapes are hand harvested and crushed naturally with gravity and left to undergo fermentation in thermoregulated tanks. The wine is matured for 12 months in 600 litre barrels before being blended, followed by a further 6 months ageing in stainless steel prior to bottling.

Match it with: Ideal with rich red meat dishes like braised lamb shoulder or beef stew.
