Made from 100% Pinot Noir, this is a strong and robust wine with great ageing potential. Aromas of juicy red fruits with black cherry, raspberry, and delicate herbal flavours. Smooth, lingering tannins and hints of cedar on the finish. One of the finest examples of Swiss Pinot Noir.

Jean-Denis Perrochet crafts serious Swiss wines in Auvernier, a charming village bordering Lake Neuchâtel where his family has made wine since the 16th century. He emphasises local grapes, grown and vinified with modern and traditional methods, but always with respect for the terroir. The grapes come from the middle of a parcel that extends down to Lake Neuchâtel.

Vinification: 40 year-old Pinot Noir vines growing on deep clay and limestone soils. Grapes are 85% destemmed and prefermented for 4-5 days below 30 degrees, with one punch down. Macerated for 2-3 weeks. Aged in a mix of small and large oak barrels for a year. Bottled the following autumn, and matured in the Domaine’s cellar until deemed ready to release.

Match it with: Roasted red meats, game, hard cheeses
