A 100% Chardonnay made from a blend of each vintage and reserve wines.

This wine in essence is the grown-up version of her Blanc de Blancs. The same lightly macerated Chardonnay is blended with reserve wine from previous vintages to create an even more mineral complexity. Four years on the lees brings out the textural complexity and oxidative aromas, which dance with the ever-present linear acidity. Alessandra says this wine is, “sharp, but very elegant,” like her favourite aunt and mentor, from whom it is named. Her most concentrated wine, with strong fruit and biscuit notes.

Story: Alessandra Divella is a young winemaker who makes outstanding traditional method sparkling wines in the small village of Gussago in Northeastern Franciacorta. She declines to label her wines Franciacorta though, as she believes the different soils of the area and her organic, handcrafted winemaking results in wines that are distinctly different to those of the larger region. Alessandra has a special love for this wine, which she calls, “an “imperfect wine.” She adores the variability that the addition of the reserve wine brings and considers the cuvée her most powerful and direct wine.

Vinification: Thirty year-old vines in clay and limestone soils in the northeastern area of the Franciacorta region. The soils are markedly different here– with clay and limestone not found elsewhere in the region. Base wine from the 2017 harvest, made with spontaneous fermentation using ambient yeasts. Vinification only in oak, and ageing on the lees in used small oak barrels for 48 months. Blended with 25 vin de reserve, which is made from the same parcels, but the different wild yeasts add more dimensions. No dosage, no fining and no filtration. April disgorgement.

Match it with: Seafood platters, baked shellfish, fried foods, goat cheeses.
