"The 2019 Morgon Côte du Py Cuvée Julia comes from 90-year-old vines that Thevenet uprooted this year as the yields were so low; the parcel will be replanted next year. This underwent a 30-day maceration. It has a gentle, understated bouquet of dark berry fruit, touches of cola and iris petal, and light granitic scents in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, quite light tannins for a Morgon that frame the crisp red fruit, and a touch of piquancy toward the bright finish. Very fine." 92 points, Neal Martin for Vinous.com
