From one of the eight monopole appellations in France. This Chenin Blanc from Les Vieux Clos grows in soils rich in schist and quartz which imparts texture, minerality and lots of ripe fruits flavours to this wine.

Made by: Clos de la Coulée de Serrant

Match it with: Creamy rich risotto or other rich dishes in need of some contrast.

Terroir: Schist with some quartz.

Average age of vines: 40 years old

Vinification: Grapes are hand-harvested // the picking window can sometimes stretch over a period of a couple of months, to enable the bunches to be picked only when they are ripe. The wine is aged in 500L barrels for a year.
