"The first question a winegrower must ask himself is: What kind of wine will this earth give me?”Silvio Messana. While Silvio's methods in the vineyard and cellar yield what many consider pure, classically expressive wines; means that he can only bottle one Chianti Classico and the rest are labelled as IGT Toscana. His wines, however, exhibit incredible freshness & concentration.

Vinification: A 100% Sangiovese from the highest vineyard in Vignano, called San Martino, located at an altitude of 500 metres and facing north-east. The grapes, once destemmed, macerated for 5 weeks. After racking, the wine was aged for one year in 15-hectolitre barrels, followed by a 4-year period of bottle ageing.
