2016, Cahors "La Fage" shows the best of both worlds when it comes to Malbec. Full-bodied, dark fruits and spices but balanced with velvety tannins, freshness and minerality. Match it with slow-cooked casseroles. Made by: Matthieu & Catherine of Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve - the pair have been making inspirational wines since 1999 signalling them as true custodians of Cahors' appellation.
The average age of vines: 40 years old
Vinification: Grapes are hand-harvested. Fermentation is done in a stainless steel tank. The wine is then aged for 14 months in barrels (only barrel used for 1 wine). No filtration, no fining.
