Terroir: Galestro with quartz

Age of the vines: 40 years old

Vinification: Grapes are hand-harvested and alcoholic fermentation is done in open tank for 15 days. It's then aged for 18 months in oak barrels without any filtration.

Rosso di Montalcino is a different interpretation of Sangiovese, characterised by a great potential for cellar evolution but aged for a shorter period in wood (22 months in oak barrels), preserving characteristics of rustic youth, fruity exuberance, and distinctive saline and earthy profile that is typical of all Fonterenza Sangiovese. It is mostly from their three plots; Bosco, Alberello and Strada, vinified separately before a final blending.
