This Montepulciano 2015 from Emidio Pepe will only improve over the next 5 to 10 years.
2015: This young and bold juice shows pronounced and concentrated aromas of black fruit, leather, meat, spices, earth, smoke and liquorice mixed with great truffle notes which will only get stronger!
Terroir: Clay for 1.5m deep and then, limestone underneath. South-west facing vineyard
Age of vines: 48 years old
Vinification: Grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed by hand. The maceration lasts for 7/8days. They will extract the tannins gently with punch down only, no pump over. After two years in cement tanks, the wine will be bottled for further ageing in bottle.
