The 2013 Emilien is a bright, fruit-forward example from Le Puy. The purity and complexity of Le Puy, from this relatively cool vintage, gives great freshness and makes this a show stopping wine.

Terroir: Clay-silt with a clay-limestone substrate on the rocky plateau of St-Emilion.

Average age of vines: 50 years old

Vinification: Grapes are destemmed and the alcoholic fermentation happens in a cement tank. The wine is then aged in oak vats (Foudre) for 12 months, plus 12 months in oak barrels. A tiny amount of sulphur is added at bottling.
