A modern expression of Cabernet Franc from a half-hectare single-vineyard. The 2015 vintage was exceptional in the Touraine and this wine in just hitting its stride. It shows deep, rich black fruits and and a touch of pepper. The tannins have softened but the acidity remains to create a perfect balance. This is the moment to drink this vintage! A true example of how great Cabernet Franc from the Touraine can be.

Damien and Coralie Delecheneau, the winemaking team behind La Grange Tiphaine are both musicians and share a love of music almost as deep as their love of wine. Musical references are common in both their names and labels, and the Bécarre, the natural sign, is the symbol used in musical scores to signify to return to origin. Coralie and Damien were unhappy with what Cabernet Franc from the area had become, and they wanted to go back to the beginnings of the grape on their terroir, and create a new expression of it.

Vinification: 15 to 45-year-old Cabernet Franc vines on red clay and limestone. Grapes are hand harvested and de-stemmed before being transferred into concrete tanks and macerated for 3 weeks. The wine is aged for 9 months in old oak barrels.

Match it with: Roasted or grilled red meats, braised duck, hearty vegetable dishes, blue cheeses.
