If you're looking for a special gift...

2017 Vi de Taula Els Jelipins

By far, my favourite red wine from Spain!!! The red Els Jelipins is made from 100% Sumoll grape, one of Catalunya's most delicious red grape varieties! It offers a mouth-watering intensity of black and red fruits, balanced with a rich earthy character. For those of you planning the ultimate Beef Wellington or Lamb, look no further...

If you’re having a big party…

Well, every party needs a magnum (or two!) and the following are some of our favourites:

2016 Weinland Gut Oggau, Family Reunion White

There is no other way to describe this wine from Gut Oggau except to say that it's one of the best around. This is one of the flagship wines - an elegantly aromatic blend of Grüner Veltliner & Weissburgunder that would pair beautifully with roast pork and dishes with a slight spicy Asian influence or many styles of terrines.

2015 Colline Lucchesi Tenuta di Valgiano, Palistorti Rosso

A magnificent blend of Sangiovese, Syrah and Merlot varieties, the Palistorti Rosso delivers a complexity of ripe fruits, with a refreshing truffle and savoury herbal characters. Perfectly balanced, this wine is moreish, elegant and capable of pairing with almost any meat dish, but would be the perfect fit with a beautiful piece of venison.

If you need a crowd pleaser...

2017 Rioja Garnacha Bodegas Moraza

Moraza's wines are a single varietal, enabling them to focus on the grape's true expression. This vibrant Garnacha Tinta bursts with red and dark fruit flavours and finishes with a smooth velvety texture. So if your choice on Christmas Day is a glazed roast ham, this bottle should take pride of place on your table. Extremely dangerous wine, far too easy to drink, so don’t be scared to order more than 1 bottle!

If your guests are wine enthusiasts...

2017 Alsace Riesling Grand Cru Hengst Domaine Josmeyer

I very recently tasted this superb bottle, this Riesling is awesomely awesome!!! It's considered as being one of the best in the region. There's not much more I can say other than that it's like heaven. Pair this masterpiece with foie gras, seafood, cheeseand you'll think all your Christmases have come at once!

2005 Francs-Cotes de Bordeaux Le Puy Emilien

A fantastic demonstration of a Merlot blend from an outstanding vintage. The matured Le Puy Emilien is full of energetic black fruit aromas of blackberry and blackcurrant fruits balanced with a beautiful earthy lifted finish, each layer revealing something new. The concentration is perfectly balanced by the fruits, earth and super well integrated oak ageing maturity – making it a very versatile wine that pairs equally as well with lamb and beef as it can with lighter red meat dish.
