A Vertical of Les Laquets

We are very pleased to share this incredible vertical from Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve. Les Laquets was the first cuvée ever made by Matthieu and Catherine, so to present this vertical is a great honour. Each vintage shows the wines' evolution, the winemakers' work, and the difference between the vintage conditions - presenting a time capsule in each bottle.

"The perfect way to discover the estate through time."

Different from the traditional rustic Malbec style; winemakers, Matthieu and Catherine, make a subtle, elegant and fruit-driven style, positioning them in the Cahors appellation elite.

Located in Cahors, South West France, the home of Malbec - Les Laquets is made from 100% Malbec vines that average 50 years of age. The grapes are hand-harvested and foot crushed. They use full bunch maceration which brings out the fruit-forward style, and the wines are aged for 18/22 months in barrel with no filtration or fining. Matthieu and Catherine work in harmony with nature. They consider that the wine is the ambassador of the terroir, and the winemaker is the interpreter.  To obtain perfect grapes that will clearly express the qualities of the Cahors terroir, everything in the vineyard must be natural.

"The wine is the ambassador of the terroir, and the winemaker is the interpreter."
