Domaine de la Tournelle

Evelyne and Pascal Clairet were both consulting winemakers before creating “Domaine de la Tournelle” in 1991. This experience in a period when viticulture relied mostly on chemical treatments motivated them to produce their own wine using eco-friendly methods. Right from the start, their project was to make exceptional wines while preserving nature. At the start, the Domaine was less than 1 hectare of vines.

Since the time of its creation, the domaine has grown to encompass 6 hectares, planted in the Jura’s unique grape varieties. The whole vineyard is harvested by hand. Evelyne and Pascal do not use any herbicides, chemical fungicides, insecticides, chemical yeasts and new oak barrels. They bottle avoiding the introduction of sulfites and filtration. All these practices allow them to make wines which express the region's rich winemaking traditions and unique terroir.
